Week 1

Turnstudent28

T-S   In the novel skate by Michael Harmon Ian and Sammy come home to realise that their Mom had left yet again. So Ian asked Sammy to do his homework and he refused. While doing this Ian accidentaly dropped the Caseral dish in the sink and it cracked, so he threw it at the fridge. This reminds me of when I was doing the dishes and I got really angry and broke a dish. What was different from me and Ian was that afterwords he threw the halves at the fridge I threw them in the garbage.

Week 2

Turnstudent28

T-S In the book skate by Michael Harmon Ian and Tony are talking in gym class which is bad as they would have to do push-ups if they got caught. When they were doing this they were trying to avoid the coach so they wouldn't get caught. This reminds me of when in french class I was whispering to the person beside me so the teacher wouldn't see me and I wouldn't get caught and sent into the hall.

Turnstudent01

T-S- In the story Skate by Micheal Harmon, Ian goes to the store to buy Hanburger Helper, Tuna, and Mountain Dew, he was almost broke after. This reminds me of the time I went to the grocery store for my mom and my dad; they told me to buy some pudding, chocolate milk, and ice cream(all on sale) and it all came to about $19.50, and we had a $20. Both Ian, and we "were almost broke!"

T-S PG: 228 Paragraph: 4
In the story "Skate" by Michael Harmon Ian gets accused by his teacher's that he hit coach florence first when he didn't. This reminds me of when I'm at school and a teacher ( definetly not Mrs. Durnin though ) accuses me of something I didn't do and I get into trouble for it. What is the same between Ian and I though is that the teacher's were both partially wrong because Ian didn't hit the teacher first, and I didn't do what they were saying I did.

T-S
In the story, Skate, by Micheal Harmon, Ian enjoys to hit/slap people, This reminds me of when I get mad at my brother, or he takes something of mine, I always slap him. I hit him continuously, until he says it hurts. But Ian does it once, and he punches, not a girl slap. This is differnet because I slap, and he punches.

Week #6
Connection;
T:S; When Samuel told Ian that he will take care of Ian and Sammy, Ian said something mean to him, and afterwards, in Ians head, said that he deserved it. This reminds me of when me and Eric got in a hude fight, and Eric had punched me, and he said I deserved it, which I didn't because I hadn't done anything to him.

In the novel "Skate" by "Micheal Harmon" Ian and Sammy return to their friends house Mr. Dunbar and there they eat a really nice breakfast from him as they were really hungry because they have been running from the cops. This reminds me of when I go to my neighbours house named Grandma Fisher and she always offers me lunch after I finish cutting her grass. What's different between Ian and I though is that his meal was badly needed mine was a gift.

Week 5
T-M
In the book Skate by Micheal Harmon, Ian was seeing Phianis Magnuson and he asked Ian if he liked hitting, or getting ing fights with people. Ian said that it depends on the person, which means yes. This reminds me of a show I watched on T.V. It was called Degrassi. A teenage boy ( I don't know his name ), who likes to get in fights, got in a fight. He broke the other boys nose, and had to go to cousnseling.

(T-S)
In the story "Skate" by Micheal Harmon, Ian and Ben are out at 2am in the morning Ben lit a ciggerette. This reminds me of when I am going somehere, and we need to get to our hotel, so we don't stop till we get there, and all I see at night is people smoking. This is like Ben because he is smoking under a streetlight at night, when it's really dark.

T-S Conncection
In the book Skate by Michael Harmon, Ian had broke into the school and printed off "the sheet" of Principal Spences' bad list of the couple kids in the school who misbehave. When Ian had printed the list off and went back outside, he realized that he had no one to look or come for him. He had no one to even look at the list that he went to all the work that he had just done. This reminds me of when I had went to the Stratford Fair when I was little with my family. I had gotten lost, so I had no one to go to or ask that knew my parents. I went to the help center and soon enough I was re-united with my family and like Ian he was re-united with Coach Shmidt.

Week 4
T-S; Ian and Sammy were in their father, Samuels office, and Samuel asked them about the Cheriff and about how the Cheriff remembered Ian's face. Ian and Sammy were busted. This reminds me of when I was doing my homeworks in the morning, because I forgot about them, and did not do them at night. My mom walked in on me and I got caught and got grounded. We were both busted, but we had different stories.

TS01
T-M
In this part of the story Ian and Sammy are being chased by the cops. This reminds me of the movie "date night" In the movie, two people stole a table, and are being chased by the cops. This is like Ian and Sammy because they are being chased by the cops as well.

PG. 148 Paragraph #1 T-S
In the novel Skate by Michael Harmon Sammy and Ian are at their dad's office and Sammy is swinging his leg's from nervousness on his chair. This reminds me of when I was little and could swing my legs while I was sitting on a chair to. What is the same between Sammy and I though is that we both swoung our legs when we were nervous.

T-T Connection:
In the book Skate by Michael Harmon, Ian had explained to his father what had gone in his life when his father had left. Ian explained that he didn't know where his mom was, he knew she was sick, and she never had stayed at Ian's home for less then a couple of days. This reminds me of a book called Perfect written by Natasha Friend. One of the main characters named Ashley is going through something similiar in her life like Ian. Ashley's mom haden't been home for awhile, and she was getting worried that something was wrong with her. When this was going on her father was with another girl living a couple hours away. Both of these characters had no one to go to. They were both facing massice hardships in their life, and both had no one living at home except for their younger siblings.

Week 3
T-S
Ian and Sammy was still walking from Mr. Phillips house, and both were very hunrgy and tired. Sammy Said that he could not walk any further because they were very tired, and wet from the rain. This reminds me of when I was running for the Terry Fox Run at our school and after the sixth lap I knew I couldn't go any further.

Book Club #3:
T-S In the book Skate by Michael Harmon, two brothers Ian and Sammy had started a nice warm fire, but they had no dry clothes or blankets to keep them warm. They were cold and had no where to go except the place where they were already staying. This reminds me of when I was at my day camp year end camping trip. We had gone swimming, and then had gone back to our camp site. That night it was very cold and the ground was covered in dew. All of my clother were either damp or soaking wet from swimming. I was freezing cold and had no were to go for warmth except the heat from the fire we had started, just like Ian and Sammy.

Page 89 Paragraph 2
T-S In the book skate by Michael Harmon Ian and Sammy ran away from home and it rains really hard. While it's raining their trudging through the mud and water soaking their shoes. This reminds me of when I was at Eric Brouliettes house and I hot my good pair of shoes covered in mud. The difference between me and Ian though is that I had more then one pair of shoes he only had one pair of shoes.

Week 3
Connection: T-M
In the story "Skate" by Michel Harmom, Ian and Sammy had to stay in the the woods, because they were going on a journey to find their dad. They had to stay close to each other for body warmthbecause they were really cold. This reminds me of the movie "Without a Paddle" because their was three guys who were really cold outsideand they needed to stay warm, so they laid together for body heat. This is the same thing Ian and Sammy had to do to stay warm at night time.

Week 2
T-S Connection:
In the book Skate by Micheal Harmon, Ian hadn't had water for three days and he said that his throat felt like sand paper after those three days. This reminds me of when I used to hate water so I never drank it for like five days and my throat felt like sand paper too.

T-W:
In the book Skate by Micheal Harmon, Ian and Sammy have no money to buy food, so Ian has to look in the dumpster for some leftover scraps. This reminds me of the world because homeless people are affected by it. They have no money, so they have to go through the dumpters as their only hope to find food.

T-S: In the book Skate by Michael Harmon, Sammy and Ian were leaving their mom, but Sammy wanted to say good bye to her. This reminds me of when my friend Brianna was moiving to Saskatchewan and I wanted to say goodbye. I never did get to say goodbye because it was to late and she had already left. Sammy and I both faced sadness when the two events had happened.

T-S Connection:
In the book Skate by Michael Harmon, Bennie (Ian's bestfriend) had peed in the school bell, so when the principal would come and ring the bell it would dump on the principal, but also the school emblem (which he really cared about). This reminds me of when I had played an April Fool's trick on my Mom. I had put ketchup in a cup and when she turned on the shower, she would get covered in ketchup. This relates to Bennie because he and I had done a similair trick to people who we know.

T-S Connection;
In the book Skate by Micheal Harmon, Ian didn't have enough money to buy dinner for him and Sammy. This reminds me of when I was at Macs in Wingham, and I only had 25 cents, and the candy I wanted to buy was 27 cents so I couldn't buy it.
