What makes Sam think that they might be a happy normal family, and not that they are one?

I think that Sam thinks that they MIGHT be a normal happy family again, beecause they are all working together to try to be a happy family, but Sam knows that she can't predict how her future may or may not be. Sam knows this from previous experiences where Sam thought that her father had finally stopped drinking, but really he hadn't. So I think that Sam is going to try not to question herself anymore and just try to live life for the best!

Do you think that Sam's dad will drink again?

I think that Sam's dad might drink a little bite here and there but not as bad as he used to.

TS29: Book Club 6

Question: Do you think the ending was a good ending for Lush and why?

Anwser: I think the ending for Lush was an awesome way to end the book. I think this because in the book it didn't finish it fully. It let you finish it in your head. It let you be the judge of what was going to happen when the father came home, or it made you think. Why did the author end there? What comes next? What happened? I know for sure that every reader that reads Lush will be thinking of it after, which was a good cliff hanger from Natasha Friend.

WEEK_5
Is Sam happy or mad that Jesse gave her the books, about alcoholics?

Answer: No Sam isn't happy because Jesse is just budding into her life and trying to solve her problems.

Proof: In the book on page 172 to 173 it says... "I didn't ask for your help". Jesse stares at me. "You're kidding right?" " Do I look like I'm kidding?"
" You absolutely asked for my help." "No I didn't." "Okay Jesse says.
"I didn't want to do this but ..."
He pulled out a paper that had proof that Sam asked for help.

Question: How do you think Sam felt the first moment she saw her dad at the rehabilitation centre?

Answer: I think Sam would have felt anger, and love. I think she felt this way the first moment she saw her dad because she would be angry that he had to leave his family because of his addiction, and that his drinking got so bad he hit his son. I think Sam would have felt love also, because it is her dad. She is always suppose to love him. I know I would feel love if I haven't seen my dad in a long time after a caotic moment.

Proof from Text: I think Sam would have felt those feelings because in the story, it explained that the first thing Sam did when she saw her dad was slap him, then collapse into tears hugging him.

WEEK_5

Question- Does Sam realize how hard it is when her dad is hungover?

Answer- I think that she knows how hard it is because she didn't remember what happened, or where she was, or anything when she woke up from being hungover.

Proof From Text- Sam says "Its all coming back to me, the fragments of my night. Drew leaving. Me crying. Me searching for my shirt. Me stumbling right out of the bedroom, bumping straight into...straight into...who? A boy".

Question: Describe the feelings that make Sam lash out, and slap her father.

Answer: When Sam slaps her father I think that Sam had so many feelings bottled up inside of her that she just had to let out. The anger Sam had I think was, because she had to deal with all of the stress being poured on her by her mother, and she also had to deal with her brother being now a totally different person. Sam feels that this is all her fathers fault so she has to blame him, and she does this by slapping him.

Describe why Sam thinks that her mom never belives in the own words she is saying.

I think that Sam's mother never really belives in what she herself is saying, because there has been so many times in the past where Sam's mother has said "Sam everything is going to be okay", but really it wasn't, or where Sam's mother tells everyone, "no my husband isn't a drunk anymore, he is alright now", but then next thing you no he is missing, and they find him drunk on the ground. I think that this makes Sam's mother feel like she just needs to give up on her self. Proof that I have of this is on page 107 were Sam is writing to A.J.K and Sam explains how her mother is going crazy, and giving up on herself.

Book Club 4: TS29

Question: Explain how you think Sam's father felt after hitting his son, and running off?

Answer: I think Sam's dad would feel guilty, terrified, and shocked. I think he would have felt this way because he hit is own son in his head, that is his OWN fault. He would be terrified because he would be scared that his family might leave him for good because they have put up with his non-sense enough. Finally, I think he would feel shocked because it probably happened so fast, plus he was drinking. He would be shocked because he hit the only family member that doesn't even care, or know that he is an alcholic. He just loves his daddy!

Proof from Text: In the story, after Sam's dad had hit Luke, and all the caotic yelling, and panicking was over. Sam said that her father stayed in the exact same spot staring at the same thing when she left for the hospital, and came back from the hospital. I think the terrible thoughts were going throught his head; "why did i do that?", and the terrible feelings were getting to him.

Explain why Sam would be a better parent like figure to Luke?

Answer: I think that Sam would be a better parent figure for Luke because one Luke's dad dropped a bottle on his head, and two because Sam's mom doesn't wake up in the middle of the night when Luke wakes up crying.

Proof from the text:" The whole time I am thinking, Where is my mother? Isn't this her job? But I already know the answer, and that is the little bottle of sleeping pills on her bed side tab - a present from Charlie Parker's mom.

Week Four:

Question: Why does Luke look at his dad like a role model, when he can't even take care of himself.

Answer: Luke looks up to his dad because he doesn't get what is going on with his dad (being a drunk).

Proof from the text: I know this because in the text it says "I'm hoping that Luke will say, No! What are you crazy, Sammy? The man just bashed my face in with a bottle! He should be locked up for life." Instead of Luke saying that he said "when will daddy be home"?

Book Club 3
- Do you think that Sam will forgive her dad for dropping a bottle on Lukes head?

Answer- I think that Sam will forgive her dad later on in the book, but it might take her a long time for Sam and Luke to warm up to their dad once again.

Proof from the text: I think this because in the begining of the book Lush by Natasha Friend. It said that that Sam and her dad were sitting on the porch talking. Sam said that she was starting to forgiving her dad. It also said in one of Sams letters to the girl in the library that she was going to give her dad another chance.

Book Club 3: TS29

Question: How do you think Sam feels knowing people in her school are judging her by her looks?

Answer: I think Sam would feel embarrassed knowing people are rating her by her looks. I think she would feel embarrassed because they arn't liking her for her personality, they're only liking her for her looks. She would feel embarrassed because Sam would no longer feel comfortable about herself. She would no long want to make new friends because they have judged her.

Proof from Text: I think this because in the book Lush, it gives you a clue, that Sam is self-conscious about herself. She seems shy, whick could lead to her being more embarrassed about little things. Also in the text, Sam reacted bad when she found out her name was on the list. She was un-happy.
