Week 6
Page: 223 Paragraph: First
One Sentence Summary: After Simone turned seventeen (17), Rivka died at the end of April and was buried near her home.
Significance Of Passage: I chose this passage because it tells you directly when she (Rivka) died and who was with Rivka when she died. I think that the author had put this passage in the book because Dana wants you (the reader) to know how it affected Simone and what Simone did for Rivka, even though she only knew Rivka for a short period of time. This passage has a lot of emotion in it because you can cry over someone dying like I can and did for my great uncle David.

Page:223 Paragraph:1 (Epilogue)
Rivka died at the end of April which made Simone very sad.
This stood out for me because it shows that even though Simone was ready she still cryed. This means that even though Simone and Rivka had a very short relationship they still loved each other.

Paragraph: 2
SS: Simone's parents let her cry after she findas out Rivka has cancer
S.O.P: This stood out for me because it shows that Simone's parents lets Simone figure things/adventures on her own, insted of them always being there right in her face whenever somthing happens.

Week 5
Page:159-160
Paragraph: 8
One Sentence Summary: Simone gave Rivka seven different shapes of photo frames for Xmas because Rivka gave Simone a photo album of Rivka's friends and family.
Significance Of Passage: I chose this passage because the author had put in a lot of emotion in the paragraph. Also, Rivka knows that you cannot keep anyone's memory locked in a drawer somewhere. I think that the author put this in the book because you cannot put someone's memory locked up and safely away.

Paragraph: 8
One S.S: Rivka has epithdial ovarian carcinoma, which is a type of cancer.
Significance Of Passage: The reason why I chose this passage is because it is telling the reader that Rivka has cancer and she is sick. It also tells the reader the name of the cancer that Rivka has and the outcome of the cancer.

Paragraph: 2
In this paragraph Simone's adopted mother lets her skip her 7th period in school to go to Rivka's before dark. This is important to me because is shows me how goodof a mom she is being to Simone, and that she cares more about Simone spending time with Rivka insted of in school.

Paragragh: 1
Sentence Summary: Whenever Simone hears her birth mothers name she cunfusses it with a mongosse from a story.
Significance Of Passage: In my opinion the author messeage was Simone doesn't even know her real mother. So whenever she hears the name she doesn't even think of her mother. Now her mother want to meet her but Simone said no because Simone has no idea who she is, and her mother has no idea who Simone is.
